Lauren Mitchell

FOUNDER & OWNER

Hi, I’m Lauren.

When I purchased my first home in Connecticut after years of apartment living in NYC, I learned firsthand how the joy of owning a house can often be tempered by the stresses that come customizing it to your needs, and keeping it running smoothly. After attending the New York School of Interior Design and working as a seasoned project manager of both interior and exterior projects, I have a unique set of skills at the intersection of interior design, renovation oversight, sourcing, and home management. My own Brooklyn apartment overhaul was featured in The New York Times, and becoming a homeowner provided more hands-on opportunities for larger-scale projects.

My interest is in helping homeowners realize the potential of their space and setting the path to bring them there. I bring years of hands-on design and management experience to every project and have deep relationships with a wide portfolio of vendors and sources.

What Our Clients Are Saying

“When I bought my small 400 sq foot apartment in Brooklyn I knew I'd need help optimizing the space without sacrificing comfort and functionality. A friend recommended I work with Lauren to achieve this tricky balance and I couldn't have been more pleased. Lauren listened to my ideas, pointed out some alternatives and potential issues with ideas I had in mind, and gave excellent solutions. Lauren provided a 3D rendering of my space with her layout proposal and it really helped me see the space in a new way. Lauren was also incredibly helpful when it came to giving me advice and feedback on furniture and sizing. Lauren also was very attentive to maximizing the function of my small space and recommended a custom closet system in 2 of my closets, and it was really transformative. I'm so happy with how everything ended up and I can't imagine what would have happened if I would have tried to do this on my own!”

- BROOKLYN CLIENT

“My mom and I decided to build a house together upstate, we generally knew what we wanted and had a rough floor plan but when it came down to refining and poking holes in our design I knew we needed professional help and was excited to work with Lauren again. I looped Lauren in and she gave feedback on our floor plan, came up with some alternate plans, and then worked with us to combine elements from the new and old plans to create our final floor plan, kitchen, and window layout. In Lauren's renderings we found so many problems with our original plan, and we were able to make changes accordingly. Ultimately I'm confident that not only will we end up with a much better layout, but we will save thousands of dollars in change orders. Lauren is incredibly professional yet empathetic and really has a special way of understanding what you're going for and will make sure you're actually getting it! I would absolutely recommend working with her on your next project. “
