Quick Bathroom Renovation on a Budget
Thatch recently helped put together a few different bathroom schemes for a boy’s bathroom. The goal was to quickly update a builder grade bathroom that hadn’t been touched since it was built in 1999. The layout was fine and would stay the same. The original bathtub would remain, but the toilet and vanity would be updated along with the tile and fixtures and finishes. Thatch helped pick budget friendly materials to create a new, refreshed space for this ensuite bathroom. The kicker was the bathroom was being renovated on a short timeline (3 weeks) - so all materials that were sourced had to be readily available - in stock and ready to ship. This was a bit of a challenge with COVID and all of the production and shipping delays, but Thatch was able to deliver.
This was the scheme the client chose. Simple 3 x 6 subway tile for the shower and 4 x 24 gray tile for the floor to be laid in a herringbone pattern with chrome accents.
This scheme played a bit more with blues & grays with gray shower tile, slate floor tile, and ticking stripe wallpaper. The black plumbing fixtures bring a modern touch to the scheme.
This scheme had a bit more traditional flair with polished nickel plumbing fixtures and a colorful hex tile for the floor.
